When a musician is “unplugged” they are taking a risk. They open themselves up to vulnerability because there are no artificial aids to help them as they play. In that vulnerability however something beautiful can happen. Unrehearsed melodies, chords and lyrics can begin to take shape and be expressed. The music and in turn the emotion is raw, exciting, pure . . . real. That is what our “Unplugged” group is and strives to be. People are vulnerable, reaching out and taking risks as they share their real lives. Our chords and melodies change when we least expect it. The lyrics, our voices, flow to raw and honest places. We may not always sound or be seen as beautiful by the world’s standards, but God knows our hearts and can hear the beauty. God is leading us and we strive to open our mind and hearts to be more as he designed . . . raw, exciting, pure and real for his glory.

Unplugged is a group of college-age students who meet at a home every Sunday night from 6:30-8:00 for dinner and Bible Study. Most of our population is made up of Southeastern and Florida Southern students, but we welcome anyone! College is a time when many of us are away from home, under a lot of pressure, and not always sure where to turn. Unplugged provides that "home," a place to kick back on Sunday nights and relax for a while in a loving atmosphere. It's also a ton of fun, and not unusual to pack the house with 70 college students on any given Sunday night! (And with that amazing cooking, we're surprised there's not more!)
