Steve NewlandSenior MinisterSteve is the newest member of the Legacy staff…joining us in January of 2012. He comes with 11+ years of ministry experience in both student and adult ministry. Most recently he has served as Outreach & Missions Minister in Greencastle, IN, where he and Lacy have served for the past 7 years. During their time in Greencastle, their family grew to 4 as God added Eddie (8) and Brianna (7) to their family. Lacy is an elementary teacher, a singer and a wonderful mother. Eddie is a football player and Wii enthusiast, and Brianna loves princesses, singing and dancing.
Steve is working on a Masters of Art in Global Leadership through Fuller Theological Seminary. His undergraduate degrees are from Ozark Christian College in Joplin (Bachelor of Theology in Missions, and a Bachelor of Biblical Literature). Steve and Lacy also attended Milligan College for a couple years before transferring to OCC. Steve grew up in St. Louis, MO and Lacy in Sullivan, IN.
Steve's ministry philosophy has been shaped by his many experiences with short-term mission trips. He has seen God at work in the US, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, Honduras, El Salvador, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Oman, and the UAE. He is always inspired by how God clearly longs for a relationship with those who don't yet know Him, and He pursues them through a wide variety of methods and missionaries. Steve understands that the mission field begins right where he is and extends to the ends of the earth.

Wes SewellAssociate/Worship MinisterWes and his family have been doing ministry in Lakeland since 1999. Originally from Ohio, Wes graduated from Kentucky Christian University with a BA in Christian Education. He and his wife Marlena have 4 kids: Abby, Wyatt, Jack, and Lucas. When he is not working, Wes enjoys reading, playing guitar, Facebooking, and spending time with family and friends. He wants to be a faithful and loving husband, and a father who wants to see, “all my children grow up into intimate, submissive, relationships with Jesus Christ.” He also hopes to one day publish some of his music. Wes desires to help others discover the intimacy and fulfillment that comes from honest worship. Wes is also a talented songwriter and wants his songs to be used to help people see that worship stretches far beyond Sunday morning. “I try to be honest about my humanity in my worship songs and contrast that with God’s glory in an effort to show how amazing His grace really is.” Wes is thankful for all the close relationships he has at Legacy and is committed to serving this family in whatever way God may lead him. Visit Wes’ Facebook page and request to add him as a friend.

Sarah LedeboerStudent MinisterSarah Ledeboer grew up in the southern suburbs of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After spending a year and half at a Christian college outside of Chicago, she found herself attending Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. She graduated in 2010 with an Elementary Education major, a double minor in Religion and business, and absolutely no intention of working in a church. God had other plans, and her volunteer commitment at Legacy, turned into a part-time and then full-time Youth Ministry job. Sarah’s favorite part of being at Legacy is seeing the change in her students as she has watched them grow up over the course of the last three years that she has been involved in their lives. She is passionate about this young generation and training them to be leaders and world-changers in a society where it is becoming increasingly easier to walk away from what it good. Outside of spending time with the youth group, Sarah enjoys camping, playing softball, painting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
